That is a subjective statement but I swear to you that this stuff in the picture above is great! This is why I felt like I had to do a review on it.
Read on for more information about this awesome find of mine.
I needed a new body wash
For a long time I had been using a head-to-toe body wash by the Honest Company. It was working really well for me as it had a nice, light scent in the shower but it wouldn’t last on my skin. This made it great for my husband as well because he has severe fragrance/scent allergies (I did another post about that).
Unfortunately, he suddenly became allergic to it recently. That meant that I needed to find another one for myself (I don’t like the Vanicream one he uses). I have to admit I was kind of irritated but it really isn’t his fault that he has such bad allergies.
I decided to search on Amazon and I came across the Kirk’s 3-in-1 Nourishing Cleanser.
About Kirk’s
Kirk’s is a soap company that was started by James Kirk in 1839. His goal for starting this company was to put all-natural soaps on the market. He did this by creating a soap product called, Coco Hardwater Castile Soap.
In 2011, the Kirk’s company was carried on by Molly and Katherine- sisters that are part of the Kirk’s family! This would ultimately lead to Kirk’s being Women Owned certified.
In 2018, two products were launched and added to Kirk’s offerings. These products included a 3-in-1 Nourishing Cleanser and an Odor Neutralizing Liquid Hand Soap.
All three of the Kirk’s current products (bar soap, cleanser and hand soap) come in scented and fragrance free versions. They are all certified as being Non-GMO, Cruelty Free, Gluten Free, Vegan, Hypoallergenic and Safe for Sensitive Skin.
The Kirk’s website is bright and cheery. There is also information on how you can use their products around the house and not just your body/hair.
About the 3-in-1 Nourishing Cleanser
This cleanser by Kirk’s was made for one’s body, face and hair. The company claims that it can also work as a dish soap, floor cleaner, laundry detergent, all-purpose cleaner, hand wash and pet shampoo.
Just as the other two products, it is a biodegradable formula that is free of harmful ingredients. These include artificial fragrance, phthalates, sulfates, parabens, EDTA, gluten and colorants.
The cleanser comes in fragrance Free, Original Fresh Scent and Juniper & Lime. Because the company is all about providing clean and healthy products, the two scented cleansers use natural fragrances that won’t cause long/short term effects.
The main two ingredients that are stand outs in the cleanser’s formula are coconut oil and aloe Vera. This means that unless one has an allergy or sensitivity to them, the cleanser will most likely not irritate one’s skin and hair.
Kirk’s 3-in-1 Head to Toe Nourishing Cleanser is sold in 32 oz. bottles and costs around $13.
My review of the cleanser
I bought the fragrance free version of the Kirk’s cleanser. It also came with a bar of their castile soap to try (I have not yet).
I have to admit that I was a little bit of leery of trying it as I had been using the Honest Company product for so long and it was hard to break up with it. The fact that it had coconut oil in it also made me not get my hopes up because I haven’t had the best results with that ingredient.
When it came in the mail, my husband was really excited that I had bought a new body wash. He even washed his hands with it right away!
Even if a product is truly fragrance free, it will still have some kind of smell to it. Because of this, I wanted to see what the Kirk’s cleanser smelled like. I opened the pump-top and took a whiff.
It smelled like birthday cake. Weird!
My husband said that the smell comes from the benzyl alcohol that it contains. I actually liked the smell so I wasn’t bothered by it-just didn’t expect it.
After smelling it, I was eager to take a shower and see how I liked it on my skin. Little did I know I was in for the best shower experience ever!
The silky feel of the cleanser and the lather made for a luxurious cleansing. That birthday cake smell wasn’t present while gliding the cleanser across my skin (didn’t really want to smell like that!)-it was truly fragrance free.
I felt so clean after rinsing the Kirk’s cleanser away. This is something I didn’t really feel when showering with the Honest Company body wash. Not only does Kirk’s do a subjectively better job of cleaning, it also didn’t leave my skin feeling “squeaky” as I stepped out of the shower.
After drying myself off, I noticed another great thing- the bumpiness of my chest and back were gone! I did a recent post about how bumpy these areas were and my plans to smooth them out (spoiler: the plans didn’t work). It was unbelievable that all I needed was one shower to finally get rid of the bumps and rough texture.
I was in love and I still am!
My skin has never felt this great. As far as other uses, I do not think I will be using it for anything else. I know putting coconut oil in hair is a popular thing but it has always left mine feeling dry and tacky.
So, here is a pros and cons list of Kirk’s 3-in-1 Head to Toe Nourishing Cleanser:
Pros-
- Provides an excellent cleaning.
- Multiple uses (try shaving with it!).
- Truly fragrance free.
- Very moisturizing.
- Non-irritating.
- Great ingredients.
Cons-
- Some people might think it is on the expensive side- $13 for a 32 ounce bottle.
- Some people have stated that packaging of it is not that great.
I will never stop using it!
I absolutely love Kirk’s 3-in-1 Head to Toe Nourishing Cleanser. It is such a good product and I highly recommend it to anyone that is looking for a cleanser with healthy ingredients in it.
