I love to incorporate all types of green, yellow, white, oolong and black teas into my cooking. Today I decided to make blondies using Matcha green tea powder from Jade Leaf Matcha (https://www.jadeleafmatcha.com/). The certainly do not look pretty (I am not a food photographer) but they are super tasty! Everyone deserves a treat once in a while. I will be allowing myself one indulgence a week.
Here is the recipe:
- 1 stick of butter
- 3 tsp of matcha
- 1 cup of light brown sugar
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- 1 cup of flour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt the butter on in a pan on the stove. When it is melted, take it off the heat and mix in the matcha powder, brown sugar and vanilla extract.
In a large bowl, mix the salt, baking powder and flour together. Then take the butter/sugar/vanilla/matcha mixture and pour it in the bowl. Mix well.
Pour the batter into a greased bread pan and bake for at least 25 minutes (until tooth pick comes out clean and sides are firm).
