
Eleni Fit is my favorite workout video YouTuber and her channel makes up the bulk of my workout routines (see my most recent routine here). Her workouts have transformed my body with minimal changes in my diet.
I decided to do a review of the 10 Minute Full Body Pilates HIIT workout as I have recently started doing it. Read on, if interested in trying out a new workout!
Modern Pilates
Let’s start with two questions and explore the topics in more detail. Are Eleni Fit’s Pilates workouts actual Pilates, or do they incorporate other types of exercises as well? If they are not what came to be known as Pilates, does it really matter?
First, it might be a good thing to distinguish between traditional Pilates and modified versions that may include elements from other fitness disciplines. Understanding the authenticity of the Pilates workouts offered by Eleni Fit can provide valuable insight for individuals seeking the traditional Pilates method.
When we examine all the moves in the videos- the answer to the first question is, no. Her Pilates workouts aren’t traditional.
Onto the second question. Does it really matter if they aren’t traditional Pilates workouts? I guess that depends on what you are looking for. Do you want a Pilates session that follows all of the techniques and movements that are part of the practice with no other moves added? Or, do you want a Pilates session that adds in elements such as cardio and strength with minimal talking/queuing? If it’s the latter, than the answer is that doesn’t matter.
There are many people who practice and/or teach Pilates that look at YouTube videos like Eleni Fit’s and think it shouldn’t even be called Pilates due to things like the flow, structure, sequences, lack of instruction etc. As experts, they are most likely correct.
So what exactly can we call workout videos by Eleni Fit if they are not Pilates? How about workouts with Pilates-type moves in them? Or maybe just, “workouts?”
Whatever you want to call them, they can sure help to get your body in shape!

The workout is structured to maximize efficiency, with 40 seconds of exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest in which the next exercise is shown. This format keeps the intensity high and ensures you get a full-body workout in a short amount of time. I absolutely love how I feel after doing the workout. It is an amazing workout that I have done several times in a row for a longer workout session with a higher calorie burn. I will definitely be keeping it in my list of favorite workout videos on my YouTube account!
