Conquering This Life has been pretty much abandoned. However, I have now decided it’s time to bring it back to life.
I created this due to my love of creating content on fitness and women’s health. My other goal was to get a bunch of viewers and hopefully make money from it like the bloggers that I followed were able to do. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen after a year or two so I just let the blog go. Every once in a while I would get the urge to start up but I would get a couple of sentences into a new blog post and would think, “screw this,” and delete it.
Things in my life have changed recently and I am officially going to be reviving this blog- this post will go into it more. If you are reading this right now…I hope you stick around!
Conquering This Life- Basically What I have Been Trying to Do!
Since I stopped putting posts out regularly, things have been up and down. I stepped away to focus solely on getting employed in a marketing position as that was what I had wanted to do. I volunteered for a year at a healthcare nonprofit before being given an employment offer as a communications specialist (sort of like marketing). I was excited about this at first but two things has happened which include the following:
- I only get on average 1.5 hours a month of work.
- I do not like the communications or marketing field.
Due to the basically zero hours I get, I have been applying to communications/marketing jobs like a mad women because at least I have that on my resume but…no bites. I have found it demoralizing but at the same time- I don’t even like those jobs as I find them boring and soulless. I am just applying for the jobs on the off chance that get an interview and actually get a position because maybe I would end up liking it? Who knows. Probably not.
Alongside of this communications/marketing zero hour job and job hunt, I have been working on a neurodiverse-friendly curriculum business (called, Accessible Pathways) for children in grades PreK-8th. I love creating curriculum so this has also been a hobby for me. It has been a hard road with only a few sales in. I get tempted to quit due to me not getting as many followers and sales as other small curriculum creators but then another sale comes in, a few hundred more likes, a positive comment- and my love of what I do is renewed.
Creating my unique and comprehensive curriculum units and marketing the business takes up so much time and that combined with trying to get a full-time job in the communications/marketing field (just for the money) has lead me to step away from Conquering This life.
What I have Begun to Build
I have very recently decided to do what I have been wanting to do for the past 17.5 years-become a certified personal trainer. My passion for health and fitness has remained strong all of these years and I have been wanting to empower others to be healthy as well. I might be taking a bit of risk but I don’t care anymore…no time like the present to go for my dream!
My fitness business is called, Accessible Movement. After getting certified in personal training, I will then get my Autism Fitness Specialist, Mat Pilates, Youth Fitness Specialist and Group Fitness Specialist certifications . My goal is to not only offer services for women but also for neurodivergent individuals and their families as well. This is where my business name comes into play and it also connects with my neurodiverse-friendly curriculum business as well.
I will be offering private/small group sessions (in person or online), online fitness coaching with program design, digital fitness programs, neurodivergent fitness sessions, online parent education courses and maybe more. Also, there will be a support group for women dealing with women’s health/hormonal issues such as PCOS and endometriosis and one for moms of neurodiverse children. For now they will be online so if you are reading this and are interested in joining- don’t hesitate to get in touch as I would love to have you!
I am really excited for this chapter in my life!
Conquering This Life Still Matters to Me
This blog site still matters to me- it always did. I can no longer abandon it as I put so much time and thought into my posts. I never got to make a living out of this like I wanted to (and like those scammy gurus said I could) but that is just not realistic.
Looking at my analytics and how well some of my posts rank- people are reading and viewing. I have so much more to say and if I have spare time to do so- maybe I should say more. No. I WILL say more. After all, helping just one person is an amazing feeling for me.
What’s Next
I have a lot of good Conquering This Life posts figured out and will try to post four times a month. Here is what you can expect to see on here going forward:
- More YouTube workout reviews- I have done so many!
- PCOS and other women’s health topics
- My personal training certification journey
- Accessible Movement updates- building my fitness business from the ground up
- Fitness tips for busy women and moms
- Personal stories and real talk about life stuff like business, family, fitness, possibly leisure fashion and everything else.
In Conclusion
I am glad to be back. Even though I am aware that I won’t get very many views (just how it is), I still want to help anyone one that comes across my site. If the topics I have planned to post about sound interesting, I would love for you to stick around and maybe comment once in a while!
Thanks for reading this!
